Beaver County Transit Authority is in need of a full time experienced dispatcher. Must have CDL.
This position directs bus operators in the delivery of service and monitors their performance. Makes recommendations to improve day to day service delivery. Primary responsibilities include monitoring and ensuring highest quality service to our customers utilizing state of the art technologies including computer aided dispatch. Resolves delivery issues for fixed routes and other services that may be provided. Assists with driving responsibilities if needed.
Ensures that all bus operators are fit for duty prior to leaving for their shift, ensures all routes are covered. Responds to bus operator issues in accordance with policy and procedures in regards to accidents, detours, breakdowns, emergencies and adverse weather conditions.
Dispatcher will prepare paperwork for work assignments, operators hours, absences and payroll.
Position requires high school diploma or GED, 3-5 years experience in transit/transportation operations, CDL with passenger endorsement and computer experience.
Hours are Monday & Tuesday - 3:45am-1:45pm
Friday - 1:30pm - 11:30pm
Saturday - 10am - 8pm
Starting Wage is $26/hr.
This is a Safety Sensitive position with the Authority subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements and BCTA's Drug and Alcohol policy. Position also requires a CDL physical examination.
